The limit of averaging down in XRP
Buying lower does reduce your average cost, but it also increases position size and total risk. Average cost is an accounting number — it does not make a losing XRP position safe.
FAQ
How do I average the cost of several XRP buys?
Average cost = total invested ÷ coins held, where coins held is the sum of each amount ÷ price. Two 500 USDT buys at 1.2614 and 1.5418 USDT average about 1.3876 USDT, not the simple midpoint 1.4016 USDT.
How much am I down after scaling into XRP?
Floating P&L = coins held × current price − total invested. At the 1.4016 USDT reference price the two-leg example above shows about 10.1 USDT; below the average cost it turns negative.
