The limit of averaging down in BNB
Buying lower does reduce your average cost, but it also increases position size and total risk. Average cost is an accounting number — it does not make a losing BNB position safe.
FAQ
How do I average the cost of several BNB buys?
Average cost = total invested ÷ coins held, where coins held is the sum of each amount ÷ price. Two 500 USDT buys at 676.8 and 827.2 USDT average about 744.48 USDT, not the simple midpoint 752 USDT.
How much am I down after scaling into BNB?
Floating P&L = coins held × current price − total invested. At the 752 USDT reference price the two-leg example above shows about 10.1 USDT; below the average cost it turns negative.
